Twitter’s Dogecoin Logo Sparks Speculation

Twitter caused a stir after changing its blue bird logo to a badly cut-out image of a dog meme associated with Dogecoin.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk, who also owns the cryptocurrency, has given no explanation for the sudden change. Some users speculated that the alteration was meant to be an April Fool’s joke that was delayed by a few days.

The official Dogecoin account tweeted its response to the change with “Very currency. Wow. Much Coin. How Money. So Crypto.” The value of Dogecoin jumped from US$0.079 to US$0.094 following the change in Twitter’s logo.

Musk is facing a US$258bn lawsuit filed by Dogecoin investors for alleged involvement in a pyramid scheme. Lawyers for Musk and Tesla have dismissed the claims as a “fanciful work of fiction”.
