ISI BRIC Equities invests in listed shares from companies in Brazil, Russia, India and China. Companies in Hong Kong, with their main activities in China, are regarded as Chinese. The 4 countries complement each other very well in the economic circuit. We call it the diamond of production which shows how the countries complement each other in terms of supply and demand. China's role as the world's workshop depends strongly on the import of commodities, e.g. from Brazil and on the import of energy, eg from Russia. In addition the countries must optimize their methods of production to western standards and technology. India's strength as the supplier of low-cost services, particularly within IT, is evident. Therefore the BRIC countries each have their individual strengths and focus areas within the diamond of production.
